Voices about MoonfreaK:
Damn this is good!
Sounds like the bastard son of Nirvana, Irland and a finnish forest.
- Marko Tikkanen, Anyhow Music

Suburban Vacation reviews:

Fresh finnswedish debut!
"Sebastian Bäcksbacka is known
as an active acoustic act and singer who has participated in many
different musical projects.
But he has also formed the band Moonfreak with three other musicians
from Jakobstad, they are now releasing their debut album Suburban Vacation.
These guys are no beginners and the melodic guitar-rocking music
sounds professional from the first second. Different styles are tried
and the album might
sound a little splitted (the reggae try didn't really feel right here),
but the ballad department is all together beatiful.
That the thoughts every now and then goes to the R.E.M.-classic Automatic For The People (partly
because Sebastian's voice and singing style resembles
Michael Stipe's) is nothing the guys should be ashamed of, quite the
opposite. On this album you'll find many beatiful melodies.
My personal favorite is "The Lobster Song", a pure rocker with biting
guitar-riffs that stick in your head.
The record as a whole gives a fresh after taste."

Moonfreak shouldn't need to be so gloomy.
"Moonfreak is devided into many styles on their debut-CD but mostly
it's Alternative Rock. Some songs are medium tempo while others rock.
As a whole the record has got a some what gloomy feel which I'm not
sure it benefits from. .
They may hate me for this, but the most catchy song is the
happy-go-lucky-song "Mental Lion". It's a nice reggae-stomper,
beatilful melody and
Sebastian's crunchy voice makes this song a total summer-hit candidate.
The song material on the CD is of even quality, the sound is OK, the
band masters many styles and these guys don't lack playing technique.
With stronger and happier songs this could lead as far as possible.
